This novel was one of the books I received as part of a Willoughby Books subscription, and what a great choice it was.

Following the aftermath of a gruesome murder at a farmstead in Iceland, this book mainly focuses on Agnes Magnusdottir, who is jointly convicted of the murder of Natan Ketilsson and Petur Jonsson.

This is based on real events, with Hannah Kent having done thorough research into the case and the aftermath, as Agnes waits to be executed.

This is an incredibly interesting read, and looks at love, loss, redemption, and the justice system. I would recommend this novel to fans of thrillers, mysteries, and history.
