I don’t even know where to begin with my review of this book, it really is a life-changing read.
If you don’t believe me, or even if you do, I urge you to give it a read and see for yourself.
My friend Cerys bought me this book after reading it herself, and I know she’s disappointed in me for taking so long to read it, but once I started, I really struggled to put it down. I actually almost took it on holiday with me to Corfu, but she told me it really wasn’t a beach read, and boy was she right!
Not one for the faint-hearted, this is 700+ pages of emotion, tough subjects, and a heartbreaking final few chapters (you have been warned).
Following the lives of four friends in and around New York, A Little Life looks at how your past affects your present, and how you can find happiness even through the saddest moments.
I could go on and on and give it all away, but all I can really say is this Booker Prize nominated book is worth a read for anyone, and I encourage all of you reading this who haven’t already to pick it up asap – but be ready for some tears, they’re inevitable when reading this novel.
