Wardrobe Wish List: Stripes

Oh I do love a pattern or a print in my wardrobe, and is there any better pattern for adding a smart point of interest to an outfit than stripes? I don’t think so.

Here are some striped pieces which I’d love to add to my wardrobe…

New Look

Red Stripe Jumper – £17.99

This piece is a great striped staple for any wardrobe, and I love the addition of red and cream to the classic black and white. I’m a big fan of deep reds, both in terms of my wardrobe and my lipsticks, so this is a hit for me!

Mela White Stripe V-Neck Jumpsuit£40

I absolutely love this jumpsuit, and wish I had the body confidence to buy it! The thin pinstripes of black make this piece much smarter and more demure than it would have been with thicker black stripes – love it!

White Stripe Tie-Waist Shorts – £15.99

Sticking with the black and white for a moment longer, this final piece from New Look is something I’m so tempted to buy and keep ready for the summer, it really is a great holiday item! The float of the shorts would also soften a smarter look for a great workwear ensemble.

Calf-length cotton skirt – £24.99

This isn’t your typical striped item, but would be a great way of adding a bit of interest into an otherwise simple outfit, and is also a wonderful example of another favourite of mine – colour-blocking.

Wool-blend jumper – £24.99

One of my favourites from the options on this list, this jumper would be a great addition to any wardrobe, and looks so comfy! I love curling up in a nice bit o’ knitwear, and this jumper is really tempting me. I love the colours, the material, and, of course, the stripes!

Green stripe print split sleeve shirt – £35

I admit this shirt might not be for everyone, due presumably to the inclusion of both horizontal and vertical stripes, but I love it. Anything that’s a bit interesting on the eye is a hit with me, and I love the shade of green used on this.

Burgundy stripe wide leg belted culottes – £17 in the SALE

Going back to my love of deep reds, these burgundy wide leg culottes are a beautiful pair of bottoms, and would make any work outfit pop! When I’m putting together pieces for work, I like to add items that make the ensemble more interesting whilst maintaining the smart look, and these culottes would be a great addition for that reason.

Forever 21

Plunging stripe dress – £35

It would be fair to say this dress has a lot going on, with buttons down the skirt, a self-tie waist, a plunging neckline, and stripes, but I really like it. You’d definitely need to either still be perky in the boob department or have some really good tit tape, but this would be a great casual or smart outfit, or maybe even something a little bit different than an LBD for a good ol’ night out on the town!

Striped Midi Cami Dress – £32

This is another piece that I think is a bit marmitesque, but it wouldn’t be on this list if I didn’t like it. I love all the colours and the overall look of this piece, and it makes me look forward to my summer holidays!

& Other Stories

Colour Block Merino Wool Sweater – £49

This is available in navy or grey, but I much prefer the grey. Merino wool is one of my favourite materials for knitwear, and I really wish my wardrobe included more of it. The pink and yellow stripes add as much to this sweater as the Merino, and I wish I had £49 to spare to treat myself!
